LEICESTER (FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers) - EuroLeague Women star Johannah Leedham-Warner and WNBA champion Temitope Fagbenle to lead Great Britain in FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers.

LEICESTER (FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers) - EuroLeague Women star Johannah Leedham-Warner and recently crowned WNBA champion Temitope Fagbenle are set to lead Great Britain into next month's FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019 Qualifiers.

They are part of a 20-strong squad named by the Federation and one that Head Coach, Jose Maria Buceta will feel can post a strong challenge in Group D against Portugal, Greece and Israel.

Warner-Leedham will suit up for ESBVA-LM when EuroLeague Women tips-off after making the switch from Tango Bourges Basket, where she was crowned a EuroCup Women winner in 2016.

The powerful Fagbenle will make her EuroLeague Women debut at CCC Polkowice this season in the wake of her success with the Minnesota Lynx. Her return is particularly important after missing games during the previous attempt to make it to the FIBA EuroBasket Women 2017 Final Round.

There is also a place for TTT Riga center Azania Stewart, while most of the candidates compete in the Women's British Basketball League, including veteran guard and Olympian Stef Collins who is Great Britain's most capped player.

"I trust this group of players to form the best team to achieve the big challenge of qualifying for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019," said Coach Buceta.

"After working hard in May and June to grow as a team, we will now concentrate on preparing for these games against Israel and Greece.

"I'm sure we can get a good crowd in Manchester on November 11th against Israel to support the team," added the play-caller.
