    MUNICH (Germany) - There were some exceptional performances during Gameday 1 of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers with plenty of players showing why it's going to be an exciting campaign.

    Here are the five contenders who caught the eye with their respective displays.

    Awak Kuier showed why everyone is talking about her being one of the best players on the continent with a stellar game for Finland as they won 75-65 in Bulgaria. She demonstrated why she is such an explosive talent with a spectacular five blocks, while also accumulating a brilliant double-double of 27 points and 11 boards.

    Germany were excited to be able to call upon Nyara Sabally for her first Qualifiers game and she snapped up the opportunity to impress. She posted a perfect shooting night on her way to 17 points, as well as pulling down 13 rebounds in an 85-41 triumph against Czechia.

    The experience of Tina Krajisnik showed as Serbia overwhelmed Ukraine 82-40 with the veteran center proving a handful in the paint. She claimed a powerful 22 points and 13 rebounds as the two-time champions got off to a flying start.

    Azerbaijan made their Qualifiers debut and despite a 99-62 loss in Lithuania, it still proved a good platform for Alexandra Mollenhauer to catch the eye. She did so after recording 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists.

    Cecilia Zandalasini continued her good form of late by putting in the kind of performance Italy needs to make steps forward. They took a 76-67 victory at home to Greece off the back of her 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
