MUNICH (Germany) - The FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers have reached the midway point after the conclusion of Gameday 3 and teams can begin to punch their tickets to the Final Round.

Slovenia and Israel have already qualified as co-hosts for the tournament with another 14 spots up for grabs in the Qualifiers with places reserved for the 10 group winners alongside four of the best runners-up.

There are four teams that could qualify on Sunday and this is the state of play in each group ahead of the Gameday 4 action.

16:15 CET - Belgium v Bosnia and Herzegovina
    19:00 CET - North Macedonia v Germany

After their sticky start to the campaign, Belgium are on a roll and could have the momentum to take a true grip of this group and step confidently towards qualification. Their frontcourt looks ready to dominate, with Emma Meesseman and Kyara Linskens ready to up the gears against a Bosnia and Herzegovina side in freefall right now. They lost heavily to Germany who revived their prospects with a fine win and Walt Hopkins will expect his team to be similarly convincing against underdogs North Macedonia.

Belgium, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered] [/unordered]

        17:00 CET - France v Ukraine

With an exciting three-way tie in this group there is so much to play for. Lithuania will want to make sure they don't slip up against the winless Susiladies as they sparked a possible late surge for a place with that super win against Ukraine last time they were on court.  France fed off the energy of the crowd in their win against Finland and now revenge is on the menu against Ukraine after that awful 19 point loss in the reverse fixture on Gameday 1. While favorites to extract it, any Ukraine team with Alina Iagupova remains dangerous.

            17:00 CET - Spain v Hungary
            17:30 CET - Iceland v Romania

Spain are one of the few teams who might just book their spot this weekend and they warmed up nicely with that dominant win against struggling Iceland, with Maria Araujo particularly impressive. They only beat Hungary in a close one the last time the teams met and so while Spain are expected to do the double over their rivals, Hungary do have Cyesha Goree in top form and many EuroCup and EuroLeague Women ballers so it's unlikely to be a walkover. Meanwhile, Iceland and Romania look to be realistically playing for pride.

Spain would qualify with a win if Romania lose; Hungary, Romania and Iceland cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered]

              16:00 CET - Turkey v Slovenia
              17:00 CET - Albania v Poland

The likelihood of Poland losing to Albania is remote and so Turkey will probably have to wait until February to possibly punch their ticket. They looked awesome in the frontcourt with new naturalized addition Teaira McCowan and Tilbe Senyurek who is having a serious renaissance. However, next year's co-hosts Slovenia will mean business as they had a humiliating big home loss to Turkey last year and want to make up for this. Teja Oblak continues to carry much of the load and had 13 assists in that close win against Poland.

Turkey would qualify with a win if Poland lose; Slovenia, Poland and Albania cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered] [/unordered]

                  19:00 CET - Croatia v Bulgaria

With defending champions Serbia looking a lock to top this group and march into the next edition to defend their crown, this is a massive matchup for both Croatia and Bulgaria. The latter were hammered by Serbia in their last game, although did recover a little for the second half at least so can take some positivity into this contest. Croatia rested up and watched no doubt so they must be ready as they can't afford to slip-up. There's no Ivana Dojkic so Iva Slonjsak, Ana-Marija Begic and Shavonte Zellous must step up.

Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered] [/unordered]

                      18:05 CET - Austria v Denmark

Denmark are probably kicking themselves that they were outlasted at home to Montenegro despite a huge display from Maria Jespersen who continues to be their marquee player. They could be forgiven for thinking ahead of February's return game against Montenegro but can't afford to do anything else but focus on not slipping up against the winless Austria.

                        17:00 CET - Greece v Great Britain

Greece are in the driving seat, helped by the good form of frontcourt duo Artemis Spanou and Maria Fasoula. But things can change and they face a Great Britain side ready to revive their hopes off the back of that thrilling overtime win in Portugal. Temi Fagbenle was sensational and so the Greek duo have work to do. Meanwhile for Portugal, they will be favorites to bounce back against Estonia but it might be mentally tough after heartache against the Brits. Estonia will be sensing blood in the water and another possible shock win.

                          19:00 CET - Italy v Slovakia

Italy and Slovakia are both looking good value to compete for that ticket and it is a crunch matchup on Sunday. The latter only lost by three points in the previous meeting and so it will be a fascinating contest. Italy will fancy themselves to advance as they have clutch players like Cecilia Zandalasini, but it also hinges on Switzerland losing to Luxembourg which is not impossible after they only scored 29 points in their last game, while Faith Ehi Etute was superb for Luxembourg.

Italy would qualify with a win if Switzerland lose; Slovakia, Switzerland and Luxembourg cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered]

Netherlands simply must put the disappointment of that hard fought home loss to Czech Republic behind them since a win against Ireland and they can still look forward to February with confidence. Ireland are rank outsiders but with a big crowd expected and a great atmosphere guaranteed, they could be competitive and cause the Dutch some headaches.

                              14:00 CET - Latvia v Israel

Latvia have a glorious chance to become the first nation to join co-hosts Slovenia and Israel in next year's competition and ironically it is Israel they face. The victory of Israel in Sweden will no doubt sharpen Latvia's focus and they will have seen how Alexandra Cohen performed in the paint, so Anete Steinberga will need to take care of her. Kitija Laksa scoring buckets from the wing could be a game-changer and the champagne is on ice for a little bit longer in Riga.

Latvia would qualify with a win; Israel and Sweden cannot qualify on Gameday 4. [/unordered]
