The forward was at the heart of Belgium's dominant 108-59 win against Israel as her side broke the all-time assists record with 37.
Meesseman produced her usual magic with 23 points, going 9 of 11 from the floor and adding 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals en route to a performance efficiency valuation of 31.
A good portion of those team assists were dished out by playmaker Julie Allemand, who also makes the list of top performers. She also finished the contest with 14 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds.
Montenegro got the first win of the tournament as they eased out Greece 74-69 and it was a debut to remember for the forward. She was pivotal to a hugely important success for her team as she came up with 12 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks.
Debora Dubei produced a captain's contribution for Hungary as they left it late to race clear of Slovakia and claim an 89-67 victory. The guard stepped off court having harvested 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
Meanwhile, Laura Gil had a bittersweet opening day as she led Spain with 20 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough to prevent a surprise 67-63 defeat to Latvia.
