PRAGUE (Czech Republic) - Stefan Svitek will turn to his multiple EuroLeague Women performers for inspiration as Czech Republic look to continue their recent momentum at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019.

PRAGUE (Czech Republic) - Stefan Svitek will turn to his multiple EuroLeague Women performers for inspiration as Czech Republic look to continue their recent momentum when they land at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019.

After their disastrous campaign as co-hosts of the event two years ago, the play-caller was handed the coaching reins and has since been fundamental to building confidence and picking up the pieces.

There had been a fear that the Czechs might struggle during the Qualifiers, but they sailed through and will want to keep their run going when they face France, Montenegro and Sweden in Group B.

Czech Republic 17-player squad for FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2019
Beata Adamcova Lenka Bartakova  Renata Brezinova Pamela-Therese Effangova
Karolina Elhotova Katerina Elhotova Alena Hanusova Romana Hejdova
Katerina Kozumplikova Tereza Krakovicova Renata Pudlakova Julia Reisingerova
Kamila Stepanova Kia Vaughn Klara Vojtikova Veronika Vorackova
    Tereza Vyoralova

The headline names in the initial 17-player squad are generally those from EuroLeague Women Final Four 2018 and 2019 participants ZVVZ USK Praha, including sister act Katerina Elhotova and Karolina Elhotova, guard Tereza Vyoralova and also Alena Hanusova who was sensational during qualification.

Throw in former EuroLeague Women Final Four MVP and WNBA performer Kia Vaughn of Fenerbahce in the naturalized slot, plus some rising stars such as Veronika Vorackova and it could be a tournament of promise for Svitek and his troops.

The only setback is the absence of Petra Zaplatova who is recovering from surgery, while Julia Reisingerova is included, but rated as doubtful after it was revealed that despite impressing in the Spanish Liga Dia, she may need to undergo treatment.
