Eight former African champions added to Angola's final roster

Sonia Guadalupe, Felizarda Jorge, Fineza Eusebio, Luisa Tomas, Cristina Matiquite and Ngiendula Filipe have contributed to Angola's 2011 success in the Malian capital, where they will return next week looking to secure one of the two tickets for African teams for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018 in Spain.
In addition, head coach Jaime Covilha added a number of newcomers, including Italee Lucas, who represented the USA at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2007.
Both Clarisse Mpaka and Whitney Miguel, who sat out the 2015 edition of the African Championship will return for the first time since 2013 when Angola upset hosts Mozambique to win their second straight continental title.

Drawn in Group A along with hosts Mali, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Tunisia and Cote d'Ivoire, Angola will also look to improve from their Fourth-Place finish accomplished two years ago in Cameroon.
