    FIBA Photo Contest celebrates Women in Basketball - Winners Revealed

    MIES (Switzerland) - The winners of the 4th FIBA Photo Contest have been revealed.

    MIES (Switzerland) - The winners of the 4th FIBA Photo Contest have been revealed. Photographers and basketball lovers from around the world were invited to send their best photographs that represented the theme 'Women in Basketball'.  

    Women in Basketball is one of FIBA’s 3 strategic pillars, a manifestation of the Federation’s will to promote all women in basketball. Not only players, but also fans, referees and coaches as well as all basketball lovers.  

    FIBA's Foundation, the International Basketball Foundation (IBF), which organized the contest, received over 900 photos from 56 different countries. 

    Pictures like the winning “Hope and Dream” by Andi Nursam from Indonesia is a great example of the passion that these women and girls have for basketball and how the sport can inspire. . The photograph shows how basketball can bring children together, keeping them active and giving them something to look forward to. This is what the Foundation’s ‘Basketball For Good’ mission is all about. It also shows us how easy it is to play, all you need is a hoop and ball. 

     

    The first place was awarded to Andi Nursam from Indonesia for his photograph entitled 'Hope and Dreams '. 

    Second place was awarded to Recirdo Bernard from the Philippines for his photograph entitled 'Play like a girl'.


    This year, the jury chose two third place photographs.

    Lea Miranda Monteiro from Switzerland was awarded third place for her photograph 'We work together as a team '.


    Sherwin O. Flores from the Phillipines was also awarded third place for his photo entitled 'HQB ( Home Quarantine Basketball )'.
