The capital island of the Cape Verde archipelago, Praia, is set to witness a fierce battle for a place in the 2025 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA).

    PRAIA (Cape Verde) - Four teams from FIBA Africa Zone 2 will compete for the sole place available at the WBLA, which is due to take place in Cairo, Egypt, in December.

    The teams competing are Kriola Star of Cape Verde, ASC Ville de Dakar of Senegal, and the Guinean teams Black Mamba Basketball and Fire Ball.

    Playing as hosts of the 2024 WBLA, ASC Ville de Dakar finished fourth in Dakar.

    The qualifying tournament will take place from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 November at the Vava Duarte Gymnasium in Praia, with live streaming of the games on FIBA's YouTube channel.
