ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - USA rewrote the record book at the last edition of the FIBA U17 Basketball World Cup, registering the top three single game outputs in competition history.
The Americans took over where they left off two years ago and have twice cracked the top 10 in Istanbul - including the 131 points they scored against Italy in the final group game.
USA rolled past Italy 131-80 for a perfect 3-0 record in Group A. That output ranks 7th all-time and it came two days after they scored 128 points against Japan, the ninth most in a game. The all-time record is 146 points, set by the 2024 USA group against China.
