    BEIJING (WCBA) - Shenyang Golden Lions maintained their stranglehold at the top of the standings after beating Fujian Nanan 94-74 to extend the latter’s winless streak to 19 games.

    The result saw Shenyang improve to 17-2 and they can clinch the regular season championship when they face closest rivals, Guangdong Dolphins (14-5), in the next round on Saturday.

    Shenyang can seal the issue on the championship race if they beat Guangdong by more than five points. For the record, Shenyang beat Guangdong 83-77 in their previous encounter.

    Guangdong had a morale-boosting 71-39 rout of Shanghai Octopus scoring almost as many points (38) in the first half alone as their opponents did for the entire game.
