BEIRUT (Lebanon)- The FIBA Regional Office-Asia during the past week conducted a WABC Level 1 coaching clinic in Muscat, Oman.
The clinic held from Aug 30-Sept 4 under the auspices of Oman Basketball Association saw 15 aspirants, including two women attending.
“It was a valuable opportunity to gain new knowledge and learn modern, internationally accredited coaching methods, which will help enhance the skills of national coaches,” said Maram Al-Bahri women’s coach at Sultan Qaboos University.
“I would also like to thank the Oman Basketball Association for their commitment to involving women in such programs. This truly reflects genuine support for empowering Omani women and strengthening their role in developing the sport,” she added.
“This course was a valuable opportunity for me. I learned new coaching methods and more effective ways to deliver skills to players. This experience enhanced my knowledge and increased my confidence as a national coach capable of developing his players’ abilities,” said Muammar Al-Rasbi assistant coach of the men’s team at Al-Seeb Club.
“The balance between theoretical and practical aspects was excellent, allowing us to first understand the concepts and then apply them on the court,” said Hamir Al-Husni, a player of Ahli-Sidab Club in the transition phase to coaching.
