GEORGETOWN (Guyana) – The Virgin Islands wrapped up a perfect four-game run to capture the FIBA CBC Women’s Championship 2025 crown, finishing undefeated after beating Bahamas on the final day. The Virgin Islanders had already clinched a berth to the FIBA Centrobasket Women’s Championship 2026 the day before, and on Sunday, Guyana and Bahamas also punched their tickets by taking silver and bronze, respectively. The final day at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown unfolded as follows:
Bahamas 81 – 105 Virgin Islands
The Virgin Islands once again showcased its superiority, closing out the tournament with a flawless 4-0 record by defeating Bahamas to secure the gold medal. Anisha George delivered a colossal performance with a 26-point, 21-rebound double-double. She knocked down 10 of her 13 attempts for a stellar 77 percent shooting clip.
Imani Tate (22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists) and J-Naya Ephraim (17 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds) also stood out for the champions. The Bahamas (2-2) finished in third place, and despite the setback, Lashann Higgs and Valerie Nesbitt impressed with 37 and 32 points, respectively.
Jamaica 74 – 83 Guyana
Guyana (3-1) closed strong in front of its home crowd, defeating Jamaica (1-3) in the game that secured the silver medal and a ticket to the next major tournament. After a tight first half, the hosts took control thanks to standout performances from Ruth Adams and Joy Brown. Adams led all scorers with 24 points, while Brown posted a double-double of 23 points and 17 rebounds.
For Jamaica, which finished fourth, Tiffany Reynolds stood out with a line of 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
