BEIRUT (Lebanon) - Coaches in India broadened their knowledge and skills thanks to the  Level 1 coaching course.

The clinic was held last 17-22 April in Bengaluru, with none other than national team head coach Veselin Matic bannering the program made possible by the FIBA Regional Office-Asia and the Basketball Federation of India (BFI).

Attendees such as Biju Jose couldn't be more grateful for the entire experience picking the brain of Matic and Co. in the seminar, which began with classroom sessions and was followed by on-court work for the application of lessons.

"The course has given us certain knowledge in teaching some of the fundamentals distinct to the traditional ways and also made us thinkof creating new innovative ways of introducing simple drills," he said.

"Courses like this would further help the coaches to upgrade themselves and make better contributions to Indian basketball," he continued. "Big thanks to Coach Matic for sparing his time and being with us for this course.”

These coaching courses are part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the National Federations, including, of course, the bench tacticians, who are undeniably an integral part of basketball games.
