    • Turning Point: With two minutes to go, Brazil had a one-point lead after a basket from Meindl. Gregory Vargas scored on a drive and Venezuela went to the top 59-58, a minute remaining on the clock. Venezuela added a 5-0 run as Brazil faded away on both sides of the court.

    • Stats don’t lie: Venezuela won the rebounding battle 36-33.

    • Game Hero: Gregory Vargas was selected as MVP of the tournament, after accumulating 21 points in the Final.

    • The Bottom Line: Venezuela completed its title defense and is once again South American Champion.
