CARACAS (FIBA Americas Championship) – On Wednesday, Team Venezuela will face current World Champion, Spain, in what will be their ninth exhibition game prior to the FIBA Americas Championship 2007.
Joaquin Brizuela, member of the Spanish Basketball Federation’s Technical Comisión announced from Jerez de la Frontera, that Team Venezuela completed two training sessions and another one in the weights room.
The game is scheduled for tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. (Venezuela’s time) in the Sports Palace of Chapin, and will be the first of an 8 game-series for Spain, as part of their preparation process for Eurobasket (which they will be hosting).
After the game, the Venezuelans will fly back home (Friday) at 2:00 p.m.
Team Spain will present the same roster that was active in Japan, with the stars Pau Gasol, Jose Manuel Calderon, Sergio Rodriguez, and Juan Carlos Navarro.
Another group of players, recently invited to the team, are: Mario Fernández, Victor Claver, and Jordi Trias.
