USA – Shaq attack lead Suns past Spurs (+ video)

PHOENIX (NBA) - Shaquille O’Neal on Sunday had his finest out since joining the Phoenix Suns from the Miami Heat.

The veteran center had 14 points and a game-high 16 rebounds as the Suns won 94-87 at home over the defending champion San Antonio Spurs.

The Kobe Bryant/Pau Gasol show wasn’t good enough for the Los Angeles Lakers, who fell 114-113 at the Staples Center to the Sacramento Kings.

Slovenia international Beno Udrih scored 25 points and finished with 10 helpers for Sacramento, while Bryant had 26 points and Gasol 25.

In other games, the Chicago Bulls slumped to a 116-109 defeat at the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers cruised to a 119-97 home win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Saturday, the Houston Rockets won a club record 18th straight game as Tracy McGrady poured in 41 points in a 106-96 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets.

Dirk Nowitzki of Germany became the all-time leading scorer for the Dallas Mavericks. He had 34 points in a 111-91 home success against the Nets. Nowitzki has 16,644 points with the Mavs - one more than Panama-born Rolando Blackman.

Turkey international Mehmet Okur had 27 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Utah Jazz past the Denver Nuggets in Salt Lake City.

Okur buried a career-high six three-balls as the Jazz won for the 18th consecutive time at home.
