EKATERINBURG (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) – Spartak Moscow Region’s Diana Taurasi was the star of the EuroLeague Women Final Four triumph earlier this month but her fellow USA Olympic champion Candace Parker of UMMC Ekaterinburg shone brightest in the Russian Superleague Women play-off finals.

Parker followed up her 43-point eruption in Game 2 with 25 points and 14 rebounds on Wednesday as UMMC beat Spartak 73-67 to win the Russian title.

UMMC were the defending champions and ended up sweeping Spartak in the domestic finals, 3-0.

Spartak had won the Russia Cup and the EuroLeague Women Semi-Finals.

Parker and Taurasi will be among the leading players in the USA squad at the FIBA World Championship for Women.
