Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is aware that USA Basketball is interested in inviting him to camp this summer and said Monday he considers it an "honor" to represent his country.

Yet the two sides have yet to talk and Rondo said he's in no hurry to make a decision whether to join the squad in preparation for the World Championships and 2012 Olympics.

"I haven't heard anything and I haven't talked to my agent (Bill Duffy) about it," he said. "They contacted my agent but we're playing phone tag right now."

When asked if he was interested in playing for Team USA, he said: "It does but right now I'm focused on trying to get a championship. It's an honor to tryout for the team but right now I'm trying to worry about the Celtics, and I don't want to think too far ahead. I want to take advantage of the opportunity we have as a team. Right now I'm not even thinking about it."
