LAS VEGAS (FIBA Americas Championship 2007) – He’s one of the survivors of that team that played last year in the World Championship in Japan, therefore, one of the most interested in seeking revenge. Carmelo Anthony, Team USA’s best scorer after 8 games (with 21.2 points, he has more than one point per mintue played), has been one of the most diverting factors, alongisde Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. On Saturday, he’ll be active in a special semi-finals’ game, when Team USA faces Puerto Rico (country to whom he has a special relationship because his father is from there), looking for one of the two spots available for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
You have won every game until now, are you all ready for Saturday’s game against Puerto Rico?
We’re still enjoying the win over Argentina. Tomorrow we’ll rest, then we’ll think about Puerto Rico; a team which respect a lot because they’re really good.
Does the game result against Argentina speaks of a closer game than it actually was?
The only thing that matters is that we won. I had a good game.
Are you feeling tired?
We’re not used to playing all this straight games in this short amounts of days, but we can deal with it.
Is defense the key factor?
We all can play defense. We spoke a lot about that, and I think we’re making a great job in that department.
