CHAPEL HILL (NCAA) - North Carolina freshman forward Brandan Wright has announced his intention to enter the NBA draft but also stated that he will not hire an agent yet.
The decision to not seek representation allows the 6ft 9in Wright the option to return to school if he dropped out of the NBA draft process by June 18.
However, Wright has been projected to be a high lottery pick after averaging 14.7 points and 6.2 rebounds in 37 games en route to being named the ACC's Rookie of the Year.
Displaying a soft touch, Wright set an ACC record for freshmen by shooting 64.6% from the field and blocking a team-leading 67 shots. He also was honored as the league tournament MVP after the Tar Heels (31-7) claimed their first ACC tourney title in nine years.
