    USA/LTU - Sabonis, Mullin and Rodman in 2011 Naismith Hall of Fame Class

    HOUSTON (Naismith Hall of Fame) - Lithuania legend Arvydas Sabonis was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame last summer.

    Now the giant center is headed for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

    Sabonis (pictured), presented as a new candidate this year, was voted in along with Chris Mullin, a member of the Unites States Dream Team at the 1992 Olympics, and NBA great Dennis Rodman.

    Among Sabonis' many achievements were gold medals at the 1985 EuroBasket and 1988 Olympics with the Soviet Union.

    He captured a bronze at the 1992 and '96 Olympics with Lithuania.

    Longtime NBA and ABA star Artis Gilmore, Olympic gold medalist Teresa Edwards of the United States and coaches Tex Winter - the  innovator of the "Triangle" offense - Stanford's Tara VanDerveer and  Philadelphia University's Herb Magee were part of the 2011 class announced Monday at the Final Four in Houston.

    They will joined by Harlem Globetrotter Reece "Goose" Tatum and ex-Celtic Tom "Satch" Sanders.
