BRATISLAVA (FIBA U19 World Championships for Women) - The USA destroyed Korea in aN eighth-final 113-69 win that underlines their intent to win the FIBA U19 World Championships for Women.

America were 33-13 up after the first quarter and never looked back thereafter.

They were 57-30 ahead at half-time, although the Koreans showed some spirit in the third quarter to only go down by five points, 29-24.

America’s win was a team effort, with eight of the team scoring into double figures for points.

Jantel Lavender scored 16 points and hauled down nine rebounds as the game’s star performer, while Melissa Lechlitner hit 14 points and recorded one rebound.

For a beleaguered Korea, Ajeong Kang again proved her worth by matching Lavender for points, although she only had a solitary rebound to show for an evening's toil.

Ten points from Youjin Lee was the only other score in double figures for Korea.
