LOS ANGELES (NBA) - LeBron James has tried to distance himself from the "Karma" tweet he directed at his former club Cleveland on Tuesday night.
The Twitter message, which was sent by the Team USA star while the Cavaliers were in the process of getting destroyed by the Los Angeles Lakers, 112-57, said: "Crazy. Karma is a b****. Gets you every time. It's not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!"
James has come in for severe criticism in Cleveland ever since he announced he was leaving the Cavs as a free agent for Miami in a nationally televised broadcast.
Before James and the Miami Heat, looking to extend a 13-game unbeaten run on the road, took on the LA Clippers on Wednesday, James said of the tweet: "It's just how I was feeling at the time.
"It wasn't even a comment from me, it was someone who sent it to me and I sent it out.
"It wasn't toward that team. It definitely wasn't a good showing by that team last night, I know they wish they would've played better."
The Cavs have slumped to the NBA's worst record without James.
They have just eight wins and 30 defeats.
Miami, meanwhile, lost 111-105 at the Clippers.
There was a full program of NBA games on Wednesday night.
