ATLANTA (NCAA) - Georgia Tech guard Anthony Morrow, who led the team in scoring last season, will be sidelined six to eight weeks.

The injury was diagnosed after the 6ft 5in junior complained of back pain. He will be able to undergo conditioning on a bicycle and underwater until he returns to the court.

"We have decided to shut him down and give him every chance to be 100% healthy before we open the regular season on November 10," Hewitt said.

"Anthony had a great summer and made significant progress in many areas. Hopefully, this will not set him back too far."

Morrow averaged 16.5 points last season, and shot 42.9 percent from three-point range to rank first in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
