LOS ANGELES (NBA) - Slovenia's Sasha Vujacic has a mean jump shot and Maria Sharapova of Russia hits wonderful ground strokes.

The 2.01m Vujacic has revealed they are engaged to be married.

Vujacic, 26, is a reserve guard with the Los Angeles Lakers that has won NBA championships the last two years while Sharapova is the former world number one in tennis and has captured titles at Wimbledon, the US Open and Australian Open.

Vujacic confirmed the two were more than just an item on Thursday night before the Lakers played Golden State in a pre-season game.

"We are engaged and are both really happy," he said.

"It's good and now we can focus on other things."

Sharapova, 23, has battled injuries the past couple of seasons and is currently ranked 18th.
