COLORADO SPRINGS (Nike Hoop Summit) – Eight gold medalists headline the 10-man USA Junior National Select Team for the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit on 9th April in Portland, Oregon.

The Nike Hoop Summit sees the elite US high school age athletes go up against the leading international players aged 19 or younger. The marquee match-up will take place at the Rose Garden for the fourth straight year.

2010 FIBA U17 World Championship Brad Beal (pictured) along with Quinn Cook, James McAdoo and Adonis Thomas will star after helping their national team to gold at both the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and last year’s inaugural U17 World Championship.

They are joined by fellow 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship gold medalists Michael Gilchrist, Marquis Teague, Tony Wroten and by Austin Rivers – son of Boston Celtics head coach Glenn ‘Doc’ Rivers – who led the USA to victory at the 2010 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

Rakeem Christmas and Anthony Davis complete the roster as they make their debut for USA Basketball.

The USA team will be coached by Kevin Sutton who is in his eight season at Montverde Academy in Florida and served as an assistant coach for the national team at the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship and the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship.

The Nike Hoop Summit has brought to attention star players such as 2010 FIBA World Championship MVP Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Parker, and Luis Scola.

In last year’s game, the USA overcame a tournament record 34 points by Turkey rising star Enes Kanter to take a 101-97 victory and make it 10 wins out of 13 for the home side.

The World Select Team will be named at a latter stage.
