BOSTON (NCAA) - Northeastern have named Boston College assistant Bill Coen as their new men's basketball coach.
The 44-year-old spend nine years on Al Skinner's staff with the Eagles, helping them post a 175-108 record, including three Big East Conference regular-season titles and one league tournament title.
"I am grateful and honored to be named head men's basketball coach at Northeastern University," Coen said.
"It is truly a tremendous opportunity. Northeastern is a program with rich tradition and I look forward to the challenge of establishing the Huskies as perennial contenders in the highly regarded Colonial Athletic Association."
Kent State bring back Christian
Kent State on Wednesday re-signed men's basketball coach Jim Christian to a seven-year contract.
Christian, who won Mid-American Coach of the Year honors this season, will be with the program through 2012-13.
The Golden Flashes have won at least 20 games and reached a national post-season tournament in each of the four seasons Christian has been at the helm.
He is 89-40 with the team and guided it to a 25-9 mark and a fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in 2005-06.
