    NEW YORK (WNBA) - Team USA Katie Douglas was named WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

    The Connecticut Sun guard averaged 21.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.3 steals and shot 52 percent from the field (24-of-46) in three
    contests last week. The Sun defeated the New York Liberty twice and fell to the Detroit Shock.

    The six-foot guard highlighted her week with 27 points, four rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist - shooting
    11-of-15 from the field - in a 92-88 loss to the Shock last Tuesday.

    An All-Star, Douglas ranks third in the league in points (465) and fourth in both steals (52) and 3-pointers (49).

    It was the second straight week a Sun player has been recognized by the league. Lindsay Whalen was honored last Monday.
