SACRAMENTO (NBA) - The Sacramento Kings will be without leading scorer Mike Bibby for the first two weeks of the season.

Point guard Bibby injured his right thumb in a pre-season game against New Orleans on Sunday night and will be sidelined for about three weeks.

The Kings open the regular season at Minnesota on November 1.

Bibby, 28, averaged a career-high 21.1 points and 5.4 assists while playing all 82 games last season.

Jason Hart is expected to fill in at point guard in Bibby's absence. Quincy Douby, the team's first-round pick, may back up Hart.

Bibby's injury capped a bad weekend for the Kings. New coach Eric Musselman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving hours after last Friday's pre-season game against Utah.
