ROMA (Lega A) - Air Avellino’s 36-year-old guard Travis Best is showing no signs of slowing down. A star playmaker at Georgia Tech during his college days, Best went on to have a long, productive career in the NBA with Indiana (1995-2002). He then had stints with Chicago, Miami, Dallas and New Jersey before signing for UNICS Kazan in Russia for the 2005-06 campaign. After spending the 2006-07 season at Virtus Bologna playing for coach Zare Markovski, Best signed for Prokom Trefl Sopot in Poland but it wasn’t long before he returned to Virtus. This season, Best moved to Avellino where he was once again reunited with Markovski. Best gave this interview to FIBA.com’s Jeff Taylor after Avellino’s recent overtime loss at Lottomatica Roma where the playmaker went up against the highly-rated Roma guard from the United States and big NBA prospect, Brandon Jennings.
