MOSCOW (Olympic Women) - Olympic hopeful Lindsay Whalen is one of many fine guards hoping to play for the United States women’s team. The 1.73m Whalen, a college star at Minnesota, is a silky smooth ball-handler and has a knack for scoring points in the land of the giants. Last year in Europe, she turned out for UMMC Ekaterinburg while this season, she has played with USK Prague. Whalen averaged 14.9 points and 5.7 rebounds in Europe and was selected to play for the Rest of the World team at the All Star Game in the Moscow Region last month.
