PORTLAND (NBA) - Portland Trail Blazers rookie forward-center LaMarcus Aldridge has been diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome - a treatable heart condition.

Aldridge underwent a series of tests and treatment Monday at St Vincent's Medical Center. He will be monitored by a cardiologist.

Aldridge, who will miss the final six games of the season, is expected to make a full recovery and will resume basketball activities in the near future.

Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome is recognized by certain changes in the heart's electrical activity. A normal heart relies on proper timing of the electrical signal.

The 6ft 10in Aldridge left Portland's 99-86 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on March 31 with dizziness - a common symptom of the disease - and has been sidelined ever since.

The second overall pick in last year's draft, Aldridge averaged 9.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in 63 games in his rookie campaign.
