URU - Uruguay makes final cut for FIBA Americas Championship:

MONTEVIDEO (2009 FIBA Americas Championship) - Uruguay made the final cut for the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship that will be played from August 26 to September 6 at Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Head coach Gerardo Jauri announced the final cut for the Uruguayan team who finished 1-2 at the Super 4 in Argentina and 1-1 at the Super 4 in Río de Janeiro.

Final cut:

Point guards: Martín Osimani, Gustavo Barrera and Diego González.
Shooting guards: Leandro García Morales and Juan Pablo Silveira.
Small forwards: Mauricio Aguiar and Emilio Taboada.
Power forwards: Diego Castrillón and Reque Newsome.
Centers: Esteban Batista, Gastón Páez and Nicolás Borsellino.

Uruguay is in Group A along with Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and US Virgin Islands.
