    URU - Bohemios and Cordon into second phase

    MONTEVIDEO (Liga Metropolitana) - Bohemios and Cordon made it into the Liga Metropolitana's second stage in Uruguay, with four rounds still to go in the first phase. Both teams claimed two wins this week to share top spot with 8-1 campaigns and managed to book two of the 10 places in the upcoming stage, into which teams will carry half of the points they have collected to date.

    MONTEVIDEO (Liga Metropolitana) - Bohemios and Cordon made it into the Liga Metropolitana's second stage in Uruguay, with four rounds still to go in the first phase.

    Both teams claimed two wins this week to share top spot with 8-1 campaigns and managed to book two of the 10 places in the upcoming stage, into which teams will carry half of the points they have collected to date.

    Ramiro de Leon's Bohemios defeated Olivol Mundial 80-70 on Monday, thanks in part to 18-point contributions from both Sebastian Izaguirre and Luis Pierri.

    Izaguirre was also the leading scorer for his team last Thursday, claiming 18 points as Bohemios beat Nacional 81-69.

    Cordon, meanwhile, joined Bohemios on top of the table on Tuesday night, when they edged Tabare 81-74.

    Mauricio Trasante poured in 18 points and Federico Haller added 15 for Juan Werstein's side, who came from a 90-70 win over Urunday Universitario last Thursday.

    Tabare lie third, having recorded six wins and three defeats, but have to wait to qualify, while Goes, Larranaga, Larre Borges and 25 de Agosto follow, level on 5-4.

    Before losing to Cordon, Federico Camina's Tabare saw-off rock-bottom Stockolmo 105-93, with Claudio Garcia netting 20 points.

    Goes defeated Larranaga 80-74 last Thursday, before doing the same to 25 de Agosto, although Daniel Ciechanovecchi's side needed an extra period to win 105-93 on Monday, with the superb Diego Perez recording 36 points.

    Larranaga beat Larre Borges 87-76 on Monday, with 19 points netted by Santiago Monterroso.

    25 de Agosto saw-off Yale 86-77 last Thursday, as Javier Alvarez top-scored with 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while team-mate Sebastian Martinez contributed with 22 points.

    Larre Borges failed to beat Capurro, who won 75-67 as visitors.

    Finally, Jorge Grudnicki had a successful debut as Olivol Mundial coach after replacing Mario Andriolo, as his new team claimed a 79-78 win over Verdirrojo, their second of the season.
