    URU - Bigua celebrate title in Uruguay for first time

    MONTEVIDEO (LUB) - Champagne is flowing at the club offices of Bigua after the team clinched the LUB league title for the first time in its history with a 3-0 sweep of Hebraica Macabi in the play-off finals.

    The team sealed the championship on Monday with a 95-77 victory, a game in which Leandro Garcia Morales scored 29 points and Kevin Young weighed in with 20 and 14 rebounds.

    Bigua stormed out to a 25-14 advantage and that great start propelled the club to success in the game.

    Garcia Morales and Young were the protagonists in the title showdown for coach Marcelo Signorelli.

    In the opener, Bigua romped to 90-58 triumph as Young scored 24 and pulled down 15 boards, with Garcia Morales contributing 19.

    Garcia Morales then paced the scoring attack with 19 in an 86-70 Game Two victory.

    Young was also excellent with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while guard Martin Osimani finished with 13 points and 11 assists.

    Bigua have won a title before on the continent.

    In 1992, they captured the Campeonato Sudamericano de Clubes.
