    MONTEVIDEO (FIBA Americas Championship) - Uruguay coach Gerardo Jauri has finalized his squad for the FIBA Americas Championship with Emiliano Bastón the last of the players to be cut.

    A center with Hebraica in the Uruguayan league, Bastón said he will treasure the experience he's had.

    "For me it was an honor to train with this team," he said.

    "When they announced the news to me, it more or less what I had expected but now my plan is to work for what's ahead.

    "I'm glad I played so many (friendly) games for Uruguay.

    "It was always a dream of mine.

    "I will try to be called up for the future."

    Uruguay will be aiming for a top five finish at the FIBA Americas Championship, which tips off on August 30 in Mar del Plata.

    The teams that reach the Final will earn trips to the London Games while the sides that come in third, fourth and fifth will be invited to next year's FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

    Uruguay squad for FIBA Americas Championship: Fernando Martínez, Gustavo Barrera, Mauricio Aguiar, Mathías Calfani, Bruno Fitipaldo, Sebastián Izaguirre, Leandro García Morales, Martín Osimani, Reque Newsome, Sebastián Vázquez, Nicolás Borselino and Esteban Batista.
