MARSEILLE (France) - Ub (SRB) return to winning ways, defeating Amsterdam (NED) 22 - 15 to win the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Marseille 2025 on May 25.
The Serbian Giants were on a mission for the jump, cleaning house with a perfect run all the way to the final thanks to a monstrous display from talismanic Strahinja Stojacic, averaging an incredible 12 points per game in his first 4.
They would take on Dutch side Amsterdam in the final, who had been on their own perfect run all the way to the final, last defeating Chongming in the semis to book the final matchup.
Ub started off hot on the offensive, with Stojacic and Dejan working inside the arc early. Amsterdam relied on their firepower from Worthy de Jong and Maarten Bouwknecht who closed the early gap promptly.
Both teams brought the aggression as the points tally racked up, with little separating them. The experienced Serbian duo of Stojacic and Majstorovic kept finding success but the constant pressure from Amsterdam kept the tie close with scores at 13 - 11 near the halfway mark.
For Ub however, their answer was to rely on the man who had been on fire all tournament. Dr. Strange went to work for his side and kept scores ticking upward for Ub. Majstorovic and Nenad Nerandzic fired big twos as well to pull them closer to the win. They would end things through Marko Brankovic as his two-point dagger would hand the Serbians their first stop win of the season with a 22 - 15 win over the Dutch.
Strahinja Stojacic was simply out of this world in Marseille, notching an unbelievable 53 points over 5 games. He finished with an enormous 77.0 player value, capping off a brilliant tournament with the finals win. He earned MVP plaudits for his efforts in Ub’s stop-winning run.
In the individual contests, Przemyslaw Zamojski (Lausanne) won the Wilson shoot-out contest while Anthony Degnan won the Wilson dunk contest.
