SHENZHEN (China) - After an absorbing stop in Shanghai, the FIBA 3x3 World Tour 2025 quickly moves to Shenzhen with a number of top teams backing up as they strive for redemption.
One of the highlights of WT Shanghai was an epic OT quarter-final between top seed Ub (SRB) and Hangzhou (CHN), who en route to the final delivered an enormous upset to end the team from Serbia's WT title streak.
Ub doesn't have to wait long for revenge as the teams again lock horns in Pool A, also featuring Partizan (SRB) who lost to Ub in pool play in Shanghai before falling to Chongming (CHN) in a thrilling quarter-final.
No.2 seed Amsterdam Rabobank's (NED) WT title drought continued in Shanghai when they fell to eventual champs Miami (USA) in a tense quarter-final. Their quest to end this barren season resumes in Pool B, where they will again meet Riffa (BRN) after Amsterdam prevailed in pool play in Shanghai.
But Riffa's confidence is soaring after they reached the semi-final, while the third team in Pool B is Valencia (ESP).
No.3 seed Toulouse (FRA) will need to regroup quickly after they suffered an early exit in Shanghai, knocked out on Day One despite splitting their games. The Frenchmen face a Pool C blockbuster against Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU), who slumped to defeat in the quarters to Riffa.
Shanghai (CHN) is the third team in Pool C and they had a taste of WT action after being part of the QD on their half-court in Shanghai.
Vienna (AUT) was one of the rare top teams not in Shanghai, so they should be well rested. The last time we saw the awesome Austrians on the WT was in Debrecen, where they walked off with the title.
In Shenzhen, Vienna will need to be firing from the get go against in-form Chongming, fresh off a confidence boosting semi-final run in Shanghai.
The third team in Pool D will come from QD, with Samobor (CRO) looming as the favorite.
