    ANKARA (2010 FIBA World Championship) - The Turkish Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, says Turkey’s next game against Greece on Tuesday is of crucial importance.

    The Prime Minister visited the team’s locker room in Ankara on Sunday after Turkey beat Russia 65-56.

    Prime Minister Erdogan said: “I am happy about the victory over Russia but the game against Greece is more important.

    "It is important to finish first place in the group.

    "We have a big opportunity and I wanted to congratulate the national team and share their enthusiasm and that of the spectators.”

    On Saturday, the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul, was handed a golden ball by FIBA President Bob Elphinston.
