TUN - Union Bank battles Agosto in tough group-B draw

SOUSSE (FIBA Africa Champions Cup) - Defending Champion of Africa most prestigious club competition Angola Primero de Agosto basketball club has been drawn in group-B for the 23rd edition of the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Men billed to tip-off Friday in Sousse, Tunisia.

The African champion who begins its title defense against Tunisian Stade Nabulien Friday is drawn alongside tough opponents in Union Bank basketball club of Nigeria; Back basketball club of Guinea; El Shabab Arabi of Libya; Stade Nabeulien basketball club of Tunisia and Democratic Republic of Congo BC Onatra basketball club.

Leading the pack in group-A is host club Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia. The North African will contend against Nigeria and FIBA Africa Zone-3 champion Kano Pillars basketball club, fellow zone-3 qualifiers Swallows basketball club of Togo; APR basketball club of Rwanda; Lupopo basketball club of Democratic Republic of Congo and Angolan Atletico Sport Aviation (ASA) basketball club.

The draw which was conducted by FIBA Africa head of Competitions Abdelraouf Menjour had in attendance President of the Tunisian Basketball Federation and several journalists.

Other matches billed for the opening day of the final round of the continent's topmost club competition will see host Etoile du Sahel taking to the floor against Rwanda opposition in APR basketball club in group-A; Kano Pillars will confront Togolese Swallows in continuation of the Zone-3 qualifiers played in Lagos last month; while ASA and Lupopo will entertain the Tunisian fans in the last group-A game of Day-one of top basketball actions.

In group-BBC Onatra of DRC will do battle against El Shabab Arabi of Libya while Back of Guinea and Union Bank of Nigeria take their in the day's proceeding.
