    Short Read

Record-breaking scorers, returning medalists and a new American star headline the women's field in El Salvador.

SANTA TECLA (El Salvador) - The FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2026 is almost here, and the women's competition promises another intense battle for continental supremacy from October 28 to November 1.

The United States return as defending champions, but Canada will be eager to reclaim the crown after falling to their North American rivals in last year's Final. Meanwhile, established continental stars, experienced FIBA 3x3 Women's Series campaigners and emerging talents will all be looking to make their mark in Santa Tecla.

From the AmeriCup's all-time leading scorer to a former WNBA standout making her debut in the competition, here are eight women to watch.

    Paige Crozon (Canada)

Few players have left a bigger mark on the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup than Paige Crozon. The Canadian is the competition's all-time leading scorer in women's history with 153 points and one of the most decorated players in the discipline, having competed at every edition of the AmeriCup to date, four FIBA 3x3 World Cups and the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Crozon has also been a key figure for Canada on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series this season, helping her country capture titles in Shanghai and Takasaki. With Canada looking to reclaim the AmeriCup crown after losing to the United States in 2025, Crozon's experience and scoring ability will be crucial to her team's ambitions.

    Aerial Powers (United States)

The United States will look to defend their title and secure a fourth women's AmeriCup gold, with Aerial Powers adding another intriguing storyline to their campaign. The former WNBA player is set to make her AmeriCup debut after gaining experience with the national team on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series.

Powers has featured at three Women's Series stops with the United States this season, with their best result a third-place finish in Bordeaux. Her arrival brings another scoring threat to the defending champions as they aim to maintain their position at the top of the continental game.

Ashley Yadrielys Torres Negron (Puerto Rico)

Ashley Torres has been a constant presence in Puerto Rico's AmeriCup campaigns, having played in every edition since the competition began in 2021. She ranks fourth on the all-time women's scoring list, underlining her consistency and importance to the national team.

Puerto Rico's best result in the competition was a fourth-place finish in 2024. With another AmeriCup ahead, Torres will be looking to help her country take the next step and finally secure a medal. Her experience across five previous editions will be an important asset as Puerto Rico pursues a breakthrough run in El Salvador.

    Fernanda Ovalle (Chile)

At just 23 years old, Fernanda Ovalle has already established herself among the most productive scorers in AmeriCup women's history, ranking 10th on the all-time list. The Chilean returns for her third appearance in the competition after previously playing in 2023 and 2024, having missed the 2025 edition.

Ovalle has also gained valuable experience on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series this season, representing Chile at several stops. The team's best results came in Sumgait and Baku, where Chile finished seventh. Back on the AmeriCup stage, Ovalle will look to build on her previous experience and help Chile contend for a medal.

    Gabriela Guimarães (Brazil)

Gabriela Guimarães has made a habit of finishing with an AmeriCup medal. The Brazilian earned bronze in both of her previous appearances, in 2024 and 2025, and will now look to help Brazil extend that run in Santa Tecla.

Guimarães also brings considerable international experience, having represented Brazil at three FIBA 3x3 World Cups in 2022, 2025 and 2026. She has featured at two Women's Series stops this season and ranks eighth on the AmeriCup's all-time women's scoring list. With her experience on both the continental and global stages, Guimarães will be one to watch as Brazil pursues another medal.

    Paola Ferrari (Paraguay)

Paola Ferrari will be looking to build on Paraguay's encouraging fifth-place finish at the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2025. The experienced Paraguayan has also been busy on the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series this season, appearing at five stops with her national team.

Paraguay's best result came in WS Xiantao, where the team finished sixth. That international exposure should provide valuable preparation for another demanding continental campaign. Ferrari will be looking to translate that experience into another strong showing as Paraguay aims to challenge the established contenders.

    Mariana Janeth Rodriguez García (Mexico)

Mariana Janeth Rodriguez García returns to the AmeriCup after representing Mexico at the 2025 edition, when the team finished sixth. A veteran of 3x3 basketball tournaments in Mexico, she brings familiarity with the discipline and experience competing in her country's domestic scene.

Mexico will look to build on that top-six finish and challenge for a place in the latter stages of the competition. For Rodriguez García, the AmeriCup offers another opportunity to showcase her experience on the international stage and help Mexican 3x3 basketball take another step forward.

With a record-setting scorer, a defending champion looking to repeat, and several experienced campaigners chasing a breakthrough, the women's competition is set for an exciting battle. The FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup 2026 promises plenty of storylines as the continent's best teams take to the halfcourt in El Salvador.

    Camila Rocio Peri (Argentina)

Camila Rocio Peri is set for her fourth AmeriCup appearance, having previously represented Argentina in 2022, 2024 and 2025. A veteran of the national team, Peri brings valuable experience to a squad looking to improve on last year's Quarter-Finals finish.

Peri also remains active in Argentina's domestic 3x3 basketball scene, keeping her connected to the country's competitive landscape. With the AmeriCup providing another opportunity to measure themselves against the continent's best, Argentina will look to Peri's experience as it aims to make a deeper run in the tournament.
