SINGAPORE - It's time for the best women players in the region to fight for their countries in the latest edition of the FIBA 3x3 Asia Cup on March 26-30.
Here are the top players you just have to watch. Duoling Hu (China)
China have a proud record at the event having previously tasted the ultimate glory with their legendary players leading the way. But China have a New Gen leading their charge in Singapore with this 20-year-old ready to show off her sublime talents.
She has starred at the U23 level and helped China claim bronze at the FIBA 3x3 U23 World Cup 2024. This latest Chinese star is ready to take the step up and lead her country on the big stage of the Asia Cup.
Khulan Onolbaatar (Mongolia)
Do you know how much representing her country means to Khulan Onolbaatar? Last year, after Mongolia broke an 11-year medal drought in the women's draw, Onolbaatar was in tears in a post-game interview at the Asia Cup after her 3x3-crazy nation had clinched bronze.
There was not a dry eye in the house watching Onolbaatar break down and it proved how much it all means to her. It started a memorable 2024 for the Mongolia women's trailblazer, who also won MVP in her home Women's Series in Ulaanbaatar.
Having now tasted plenty of success, you just know Onolbaatar will be eying off gold in Singapore.
Marena Whittle (Australia)
Speaking of passionate players, no one leaves it all on the floor quite like this awesome Aussie. The former MVP is looking to help the Gangurrus claim a three-peat in this competition.
Whittle has proven to be one of the very best players on the planet, who can do it all on the half-court, but it's her grit and boundless energy that makes her a standout. The last time we saw her on the half-court, Whittle had to deal with unfamiliar disappointment as Australia crashed at the Paris Olympics.
But you just know that setback with make this 3x3 warrior only stronger.
Kaye Pingol (Philippines)
The Philippines always have crazy support in the bleachers every time they step onto the half-court and this will be no exception in Singapore. Their extremely loud fans will go stir crazy every time this 3x3 magician touches the Wilson.
Pingol has an incredibly deep bag with a filthy crossover to boot. We just can't wait to see what she's been working on and you just know her newest trick will spark hollers from her compatriots.
Rattiyakorn Udomsuk (Thailand)
We've seen this tall Thai be a flamethrower at the Asia Cup before and she's coming into Singapore red hot after being the main attraction in Bangkok during the Champions Trophy. She was absolutely on a heater, splashing five twos, to stun powerhouse France and become a hero in her country.
Udomsuk is in the zone and she's ready to heat up Singapore.
Fatoumanana Nishi (Japan)
Japan are a hoops Asian power, but only have one bronze medal to show in the women's tournament history. They are looking to add to that in Singapore with their hopes high because of this 21-year-old emerging superstar.
She's shown glimpses of her prodigious talent at the U23 level, notably at last year's U23 World Cup, and she's ready to step up in her major senior tournament debut. Remember the name, because Fatoumanana Nishi is destined to be in the bright lights soon.
