TKM - 2011 Olympic Solidarity Coaching Clinic reports

Turkmenistan (Olympic Solidarity Technical course for coaches) – The Turkmenistan Basketball Federation hosted the coaches’ technical course in Ashgabat from 16 to 23 November 2011.

Turkish coaching expert Necati Güler taught the intermediate Level 2 course, attended by 31 participants from all parts of the Turkmenistan.

The eight-day programme was split into two parts: the theoretical sessions took place over the first four days and the practical part was the focus of the remainder of the clinic, which was helped by the presence of 15 young players from three different teams of various ages and levels.

The course content covered three main topics: the fundamental principles of basketball coaches, the fundamentals of defense and of offense (how to teach them).
