SEOUL (FIBA Asia Championship) - Korea have made three late changes to their national team with Moon Seonggon, Kang Sangjae and Choi Junyoung each added to Korea's roster for the FIBA Asia Championship.
SEOUL (FIBA Asia Championship) - Korea have made some changes to their national team with Moon Seonggon, Kang Sangjae and Choi Junyoung each added to the 12-man roster for the FIBA Asia Championship.
The moves have come following Korea's decision not to take Kim Sunhyung and Oh Se-Keun.
Head coach Kim Dong-Kwang wanted to call up veteran national team swingman Yang Heejong but his club, Anyang KGC, did not endorse the move since the player is recovering from a knee injury.
Anyang KGC does have two other players, guards Park Chanhee and Lee Junghyun, in the national team.
Coach Kim said in the Korean media: "It is true that I wanted Yang but he is not 100 percent and after a meeting, pulling three players from a team is unfair and that was the probable."
Yoon Hoyoung had been expected to play at the William Jones Cup but he aggravated an injury and was unable to take part.
Once the Williams Jones Cup was underway, an Achilles problem plagued captain Yang Donggeun while Ha Seungjin went down with a hip strain and knee problem.
At the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Korea failed to win a game in Gran Canaria but did have some bright moments.
They hosted the Asian Games, however, and finished first.
In Changsha, Korea will face Jordan, Singapore and hosts China in Group C.
