    BANGKOK (World University Games Men) - Japan and Serbia made it three wins out of three with victories in their final matches of the men's competition second phase at the 24th Universiade in Bangkok on Monday.

    Kenji Hasegawa's side overcame Germany 75-67 as the Japanese ended top of Group K, while Aleksandar Kesar watched his Serbian team beat the Russian Federation 77-62 to finish as Group L winners.

    In the other matches of the groups, Greece claimed a first win of the pool edging Ukraine 79-77 to finish behind the Germans, and Finland eased past Mexico 62-49 to follow Russia in third.

    In Group J, Ali Kavaklioglu poured in 27 points as Turkey surprised Lithuania with a 100-89 victory.

    However, Mindaugas Lukosius' team still topped the group ahead of the United States, 88-51 winners over China in their final game.

    Canada finished top of Group I after thumping Israel 83-54.

    Defeat dropped the Israelis to third place behind Korea, who comfortable beat New Zealand 78-57.

    In Group M, where one game still remains, Brazil thrashed South Africa 90-58 thanks to 22 points from Marcos Hubner and 21 from Audrei Parisotto.

    Chinese Taipei revived their qualification chances with a narrow 65-60 win over home favourites Thailand.

    Finally in Group N Kazakhstan fended off a strong challenge from Angola to win 67-54 and stay top of the section.

    The other match in the groups saw Czech Republic beat Australia 69-53.
