MIES (Switzerland) - The Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL continued with eight games on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday gives us time to reflect on the best individual performances.
The 13th Team of the Week saw players from La Laguna Tenerife, Galatasaray MCT Technic, AEK BC, Le Mans Sarthe Basket and Elan Chalon make the cut.
La Laguna Tenerife needed a miraculous comeback to take down Pallacanestro Trieste in Spain. The crucial player as they overturned a 10-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter was Bruno Fitipaldo, taking the Islanders to 2-0.
Tenerife weren't the only team coming back from a double digit deficit in the fourth quarter this week. Errick McCollum pulled off a number of masterful moves as Galatasaray MCT Technic turned a -12 gap to an overtime win.
While McCollum and Galatasaray enjoyed the loudest atmosphere on Tuesday, Wednesday belonged to AEK BC's fans in Athens. Frank Bartley made sure the party went on all night long, handing ALBA BERLIN their first BCL defeat since October.
Le Mans Sarthe Basket defeated Hapoel Netanel Holon with ease on the road, as David DiLeo knocked down six three-pointers in a game for the second time this season. DiLeo and Le Mans are now 2-0, leading the group ahead of Rytas, Galatasaray and Holon.
The middle belongs to Grant Golden. Elan Chalon's center is fitting in coach Elric Delord's system perfectly, putting up 20 points with 6 rebounds against Fitness First Wurzburg Baskets.
It's the second time in his BCL career that he has had 20 points and 6 rebounds, after putting up those same numbers with AEK last season, in a game against... Wurzburg.
