The stellar-talented guard erupts in Quarter-Finals classic with one of the greatest ever displays in U17 history.

BRNO (Czechia) - Miya Takeuchi has put her name up in lights once again at the FIBA U17 Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 with a breathtaking 32-point performance for Japan to cement her status as one of the most exciting rising stars in the global game.

Who will be the FIBA U17 Women's World Cup 2026 TISSOT MVP?

While her incredible display was not quite enough to propel her team into the Semi-Finals as they were squeezed out 70-64 by rivals Australia, it was an epic effort that will be considered as one of the best individual U17 performances ever.

Not just because of the 32 points, but also the phenomenal entertainment that Takeuchi provided as she filled the highlights reel yet again with her moves to the hoop.

Her tally takes her into the all-time chart for game-high scores, also entering the all-time chart for field goals made after she converted 14 of them. It's also the most points scored in a FIBA competition in her young career and just two short of tying Moeko Nagaoka's all-time high for Japan in the competition.
