PIESTANY (Slovakia) - The second promotion spot from FIBA U16 Women's EuroBasket, Division B, will be decided on Saturday after the Semi-Finals were completed.
Sweden and Belgium will play for the right to join Tournament 3 winners Greece in next summer's Division A.
Sweden edge Switzerland in enthralling last four battle
Sweden held their nerve down the stretch to overcome Switzerland 57-54 in the Division B Semi-Final.
A clutch bucket from Kenyah Monteiro De Macedo with less than 50 seconds left proved to be the difference, though the Swiss will be kicking themselves for having the chance to tie the game with just over a minute left but failing to take advantage.
Zuhayra Mohamed led the winners with 15 points, with Leia Agilar adding 13. For Switzerland, Eloise Lembo led the way with 13 points and 6 rebounds.
Belgium breeze past hosts
Belgium had too much firepower as they defeated Slovakia 73-56 to punch their ticket to the Final.
After a closely contested first quarter, Belgium broke the game open with a mammoth 27-7 run to pull away from the hosts, who started the third quarter strong but were ultimately playing catch-up.
Eflin Nalli shot 8-for-12 from the field and finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Vilma Nedielkova and Stella Kolenova had 12 points apiece for Slovakia.
