    Statistics workshop for Iraqi statisticians draws participants from different provinces

    BAGHDAD (Iraq) - The FIBA Regional Office – Asia held a two-day statisticians workshop on October 21 and 22 in Baghdad, Iraq.

    BAGHDAD (Iraq) - The FIBA Regional Office – Asia held a two-day statisticians workshop on October 21 and 22 in Baghdad, Iraq.

    A total of 25 participants, both male and female, from different provinces all over Iraq attended the workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to improve the quality and increase the number of licensed statisticians and further improve and develop the game of basketball in Iraq.

     “I would like to express my gratitude to the FIBA Regional Office – Asia for its constant support as Iraq Basketball Federation continues to develop and improve,” said Iraqi Basketball Association (IBA) President Dr. Hussein Al Ameedi.

    “Statistics are an important part of basketball, and it’s becoming more and more significant to fans, coaches and players in Iraq,” he added.

    The workshop is part of the Regional Office’s continuous efforts to improve the different departments of its national federations, including the statisticians, who are becoming an integral part of basketball games.

    “The content of the workshop was very informative and presented the latest amendments in statistics, and drew strong engagement and interaction from the participants who represent the different Iraqi provinces,” said IBA board member Dr. Mohannad Al Ani.

    “The participants will take back with them the valuable knowledge they acquired here and implement in their provincial games,” he concluded.
