    Statistician's workshop held in Kuwait during GBA national team championship

    KUWAIT CITY (Kuwait) – The FIBA Regional Office Asia organized a FIBA statisticians' workshop in Kuwait City, Kuwait from 22-23 November, 2019.

    KUWAIT CITY (Kuwait) – The FIBA Regional Office Asia organized a FIBA statisticians' workshop in Kuwait City, Kuwait from 22-23 November, 2019.

    The two-day event's objective was to instruct and prepare a core of FIBA licensed statisticians for any upcoming basketball events to be held in the country.

    FIBA's Executive Committee lifted the suspension on the Kuwait Basketball Association during it's meeting on the 28th of June 2019 and the federation is putting in their best efforts to get the basketball program back on track once again.

     

    "On behalf of our board I want to thank FIBA's Regional Office in Asia for making sure this statistics workshop is held in Kuwait," said Abdulrahman Hussein Al-Khebbaz, secretary general of Kuwait Basketball Association.

    The workshop was held during the Gulf Basketball Association's men’s national team championship 2019 held in Kuwait City. The competition was played between the men’s national teams of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.

    The first day of the workshop on 22 November was the theoretical part of workshop, preparing the participants for the practical workshop on 23 November. The participants of the workshop expressed their happiness in the information provided at the workshop and are highly looking forward to attending similar workshops in the future.
